Introducing my brand new and very first feature…
I’ve been mulling over having some kind of feature for a while now and after some advice from blogger extraordinaire and queen of fab features herself, Carolyn @ Book Chick City and my ever thoughtful and supportful blog buddie Jan @ Eating YA Books I decided to go for it. Only now I’m nervous…I really hope you love the idea and would like to participate!
So What’s ‘So, I say Thank You For The Books…’ all about?
I came up with the idea when mulling over a post I was thinking of writing. There is one person who has been a huge inspiration to me when it comes to my love of books, My Gran. I thought about writing a piece about her and how she influenced me so greatly, then I got to thinking wouldn’t it be interesting to see who inspired other bloggers and how? And my idea was formed.
Interested in getting involved?
I really hope so (eeek!) I’m inviting bloggers and authors alike to write a guest post for this new and (hopefully) regular feature. Is there one particular person who inspired your love of books? It could be a relative, teacher, librarian, a particular author…anyone. It could even be a ‘thing’…perhaps a movie prompted you to look up the book which inspired it or a specific event occurred and you’ve never looked back? It’s up to you…now’s your chance to tell us all about it! (Obviously, for privacy reasons, we don’t need full names and photo’s of people!)
I’ll be starting my feature later today with my own post, so if you’re interested and want to know more please do check back later! I’d love to make this a regular feature, though how often will depend on how many people would like to participate (I’d love to go with fortnightly). I think this is a fantastic way to share an interesting story, get to know our fellow book bloggers and maybe even discover some old books we may never have come across.
If you’d like to take part and be featured in my So I Say Thank You For The Books… regular posts or have any questions, you can email me at Rhiana-Reads.live.com Alternatively, leave a comment with your email address and I’ll get back to you.
*Sits back nervously and hopes this isn’t a bad idea!*
