Royal Mail Celebrates Roald Dahl…plus Giveaway!

I’ve been asked to let you know about Royal Mail’s new stamps celebrating Roald Dahl…

Royal Mail is celebrating one of the nation’s best-loved children’s authors, Roald Dahl, with its first stamp issue of 2012.
The presentation pack of six stamps celebrates six of Dahl’s most famous books that children and adults alike came to know and love, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Twits and Matilda.
The stamps themselves recreate the magic of the Dahl books, using the beautiful illustrations of Quentin Blake.

For the launch, Royal Mail Stamps is running a competition on its Facebook page,, to win Roald Dahl’s Scrumdiddlyumptious Story Collection featuring seven of his best-loved books, a pop-up book of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a Roald Dahl presentation pack.

I also have FIVE presentation packs to giveaway…and they are gorgeous! To be in with a chance just fill out the form below and let me know your favourite Roald Dahl book in the comments below. Contest closes midnight 24th January, open to UK residents only. Winners will be notified by email.

  1. I adored Roald Dahl books growing up! I think I read them all over and over again. My favourite was George's Marvellous Medicine though – I can remember attempting to recreate the medicine with things around the house – luckily no-one every tried any of my concoction, I don't think it would work very well!

  2. I loved so many of his books but I think the BFG would have to be my all time favourite. I read that book so many times & then my brother (who is 9 years younger & was never into reading) was obsessed with the cartoon. It's still a family favourite 🙂

  3. My favourite was Fantastic Mr Fox with The Magic Finger a close second. I ADORED those books when I was at primary school. And I hated reading then. I'd spend our class free time reading along while I listened to the audio book.

I love these stamps! And I so want them to add my collection. Stamps can be so pretty!

  4. My favourite Roald Dahl book is Matilda. Everyone always used to call me Matilda when I was younger as I could read before I was 3 and I was never seen without a book in my hands, I was (and still am) a real life Matilda 🙂
