My Top Ten of 2017

Wow, hard to believe 2017 is almost at an end! Its been an absolute rollercoaster of a year, with some serious ups and downs but bookwise its been pretty damn good. I started the year aiming to read 50 books – but that went so well I’d already smashed that total by June and so I upped it to 100. Sadly, a tricky few weeks mean I’m going to fall short this year at around 90, but there’s been some absolute corkers amongst them and here are my top ten.

So, in no particular order… (Links will take you to my review)

The Vanishing Of Audrey Wilde by Eve Chase – if you follow me on Twitter this won’t be a surprise! I LOVED this atmospheric and haunting story.

Ginny Moon by Benjamin Ludwig  = with the most endearingly quirky heroine you’ll meet, this book is both an inspiration and a heartbreak.

The Last Piece of my Heart by Paige Toon – this warm, gorgeous feel good book left me with a huge soppy smile!

I Know My Name by C J Cooke –  cleverly complex and thought provoking as well as being a compulsive page turner

Dead Woman Walking by Sharon Bolton  – this adrenaline packed race around Northumberland had me gripped

Little Sister by Isobel Ashdown – Sisters were a big thing in psychological thrillers this year, but this creepy, twisty page turner topped them.

Dangerous Crossing by Rachel Rhys – Evocative,Captivating and intriguing. Life aboard this cruise ship had me hooked.

Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney –  compelling, original and twisty and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout

The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo – Romantic, tender, heart wrenching and emotionally intense and written with the most beautifully effortless prose I thought this was stunning

Sealskin by Su Bristow – magical, dark, enchanting and utterly absorbing, I adored Su Bristow’s lyrical storytelling from beginning to end.

Do you agree with my choices? Which of these made your top ten and have I missed out your favourite? Leave a comment below!
